We invite organisations to partner with us as sponsors for the second Citizen Science for Water (CS4Water) Conference, which will take place from 29 June to 1 July 2027 at the Emeris Newlands Campus in Cape Town, South Africa. As the first edition in Africa, CS4Water 2027 will advance participation in citizen science for water while highlighting Global South practices and perspectives.
The conference will spotlight the pivotal role of citizen science in freshwater monitoring, management, and governance, as well as links between citizen science for water and digital innovation, education, capacity building, community empowerment, traditional knowledge systems, ecosystem stewardship, and climate resilience.

Why sponsor CS4Water 2027?
Sponsorship offers direct engagement with an international audience working across all realms of citizen science for water, and a lasting association with a growing biennial conference.
Global visibility. A pioneering conference uniting perspectives from the Global North and South around citizen science for water, at its first African edition.
Strategic engagement. Direct engagement with scientists, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), policymakers, and grassroots innovators working towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Africa Water Vision and Policy 2063 (AWVP63), in a format built for conversation.
Meaningful impact. Support for a platform that empowers communities, builds scientific literacy, and advances practical solutions to the global freshwater crisis.
Enduring association. Relationships formed in Cape Town in 2027 will carry forward into future biennial editions and the wider international water community.

institutions across academia, government, civil society, and the private sector
The 2025 edition in Delft, the Netherlands, drew participants from institutions including the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Water Quality Alliance (WWQA), and the European Commission, alongside research universities, national government bodies, and grassroots citizen science initiatives.
The 2027 audience will span academic researchers, citizen science practitioners, policymakers, educators, technology developers, and community leaders. For sponsors working in water monitoring, environmental technology, education, or development, it offers a concentrated, senior, and internationally distributed audience in one room. The whole conference will run across a single floor of the venue, so sessions, exhibits, tea breaks, and lunches will all happen in one place.
